LAS SALINAS PETANCA LEAGUE UPDATE – COSTA BLANCA PETANCA

07.04.2015 – The Las Salinas petanca winter league held their cup and plate matches were there were some hard fought battles. The cup was won by Amigos belgas 1 defeating Blagul 2. Rocajuna came 3rd. The plate was won by Blagul 1 after a hard match defeating the Falcons. In 3rd place was Dominos red. The presentation dinner will be held at the Asturias restaurant at 2pm on Friday 10th April, when all the euros from competitions will be presented to caritas to help the people on Orihuela costa who are struggling with finances. Now the summer league has started, it is very hard playing in the heat.Will keep you updated on the results. 05.03.2015 – The league played its last matches on Friday 27th February. The winners of the 1st division are Amigos Belgas 1 closely followed by Buccaneers. The 2 nd division was won by Los Bandidos. 2nd place was up for grabs, with 3 teams in contention, Lakeside hellcats grabbed 2nd place. In division 3 Amigos Belgas 2 and Balgul 1 came 1st and 2nd. In division 4 Amigos Belgas 3 finally won the division with Pumas running them a close 2nd. In division 5 Guardamar finished top the league with Dominos McCoys being runners up. In division 6 Rocjauna lions finished top followed by Blagul 2. On March the 1st the league held a mixed doubles competition were 48 mixed couples took part. 1st place went to Jean Francois and Michelle Santiago from Amigos belgas 1. All proceeds from the competition will be going to Caritas at the presentation dinner on the 10th April. 22.02.2015 – The draw took place on Sunday 22 February for the semi finals of the cup and plate. In the cup Amigos Belgas 1 have been drawn against Rocajuna and Blagul 2 v Buccaneers. The plate draw is Falcons v Danish Dynamite and Dominos red v Blagul 1. The games will be played on Wednesday 4th March. We are now nearing the end of the winter league season, with 1 more match to play, there has been a few surprises with the results. In division 1 Amigos Belgas 1 came away from Rocajuna with a 5-2 victory, and they stay top of the table, but with Buccaneers winning away also they remain 2nd. In division 2 Los Bandidos with good away win at XPS stay top of the division, closely followed by Danish Dynamite, Lakeside Hellcats and Breeze Bar Cannons.In division 3 Amigos Belgas 2 lost to second place Blagul 1 so both teams will have to fight for who will be the champions. In division 4 Pumas and Amigos Belgas 3 fought out a hard match to decide who would be champions and runners up, Amigos Belgas 3 winning the match by the narrowest of margins 4-3. In division 5 Guardamar have secured the championship by defeating Escorpiones. With the last match of the season to come Falcons and Dominos McCoys are fighting for 1st and 2nd. In the 1st division good wins for Buccaneers and Amigos Belgas 1. Buccaneers go top of the league with Amigos Belgas 1 second. Could next week be the title decider with the Buccaneers at home to Amigos Belgas. Into division 2, good wins for Los Bandidos , Lakeside hellcats and Breeze bar cannons keep them in 1st 2nd 3rd places respectively. In division 3 good wins for Amigos Belgas 2 Torre bears 1 and Blagul 1. Amigos Beglas 2 are looking a good bet for promotion. In division 4 Amigos Belgas 3, pumas and Torre bears 2 all had convincing wins, with El Raso Bandidts winning away at San Miguel Tigers. In division 5 Guardamar look certain champions, but who will go up with them? Falcons went 2nd with a good away win closely followed by Dominoes mccoys. Into division 6, Rocajuna Lions won away and go top of the division. Blagul 2 stay 2nd although they had a free week.
